Chapter Nine- Oooo Saul!

9/20/1985

Saul was seven years of age and Primo was one. Today while they were relaxing on Revere Beach with their mom and dad, Saul got the wrong idea to play a prank on papa.

Mr. Sanchez was getting hot under the sun and stood up from his towel to jump in the ocean. Saul was lying on the towel right next to papa and reached up pulling down his shorts all the way to his ankles, and Saul found out why the Coyote always called Mr. Sanchez A Long Dong.

Mr. Sanchez was so infuriated that when he brought Saul home he intended to finally teach this boy a lesson. When the Sanchez' got home Papa grabbed Saul by the head of his hair, Saul cried and Mr. Sanchez told the boy in Spanish he better go hide.

Saul never took his parents seriously, they always threatened him but never acted upon it. This time around Saul was in a rude awakening.

His father in a fit of rage went behind the television grabbing an extension cord, found Saul, and whipped him aggressively with it on his back.

The next day at school Saul could not sit with his back on the chair and it was quite obvious to the teacher that Saul was in some serious pain. Saul denied telling anyone what happened. He told the teacher that he hurt his back playing basketball.

Primo was five years old now. He has the same cafe caramel skin tone like his mom, but he resembled his dad very much with the Sicilian features and skinny build. He was the baby with brown flowing curly hair.

Today the Sanchez went to the department store to buy a new wardrobe for the family.

Now Mr. and Mrs. Sanchez were both working so they had a lot more income coming in to afford anything they wanted. Mr. Sanchez was able to put money aside to save or send money to his country for both of his mothers were still there. He sent money to pay his sisters college so she can become a lawyer and his cousin so he can become a doctor.

He also put some money aside for Christmas to feed the poor people in his country on Christmas Eve. This made him feel good to help his people for at the time Nicaragua was a third world country and an American dollar bill was of high value and could easily feed five people.

Mrs. Sanchez was working at a hotel in Boston. She was a housemaid attendant.
She busted her ass to the point of exhaustion and they paid her less than everyone else, but she stuck with it and got the trade union workers to support her and was able to get everyone a raise and the same wages.

Saul was eleven years old now, and still up to his antics. While they were in line at the checkout Saul and Primo were waiting for the candy that Papa bought to be scanned. Saul always tried to get Primo in trouble because he didn't think it was fair that just because Primo was the baby he should get any special treatment.

So, Saul looked for coniving ways to set Primo up. like today in the checkout line, Saul decided to let out a huge fart. Then he turns around looking at Primo in surprise saying, "Primo! BRO YOU STINK!" Mama, Papa, Saul, and even the cashier had to cover their noses. Primo was so embarassed.

When they got home mama used corporal punishment to teach him a lesson. She made Primo kneel on hard rice with a book in each hand and his arms extended with his nose touching and facing the wall for 30 minutes.
